Simple Machines Forum is a free forum software. I have seen it used quite a few times by different marketers. It is quite easy to install and do basic setup.
The one problem I found…which seems to be the case for a lot of free products…is that their “getting started” information is minimal at best. They have no step by step instructions.
So, I have created 2 videos. One is for installation and one is how to set up the structure of the forum. I learned how to do this by poking around and seeing what works. Very time-consuming.
These will get you started if you want to try out this software. Get a forum set up and then you can look around and see if it will suit your needs.
I am told that the software can be installed using Fantastico, but I have not tried it.
